The Hunger Games is an addictive tale that steals you away into a dangerous country. Katniss Everdeen lives in a dark world woven with injustice. She fights to survive every day. Her family staves off starvation while the president and others in the Capitol lounge around with an abundance of food. Yearly these very men and women raised in laziness enjoy the Hunger Games, an invention of the Capital to keep the poor dying families in check.

What happened to make the murderous President Snow so terrible? Or who? This is the story of the tenth Hunger Games, where Coriolanus Snow is just an 18-year-old boy trying to make a life in the Capital. Where Coriolanus Snow seemed to have a heart. This year the game is a bit different, as they are allowing mentors. It seems like the odds are against Snow as he gets paired up with a girl from District 12, Lucy Gray.

The prequel to the Hunger Games series was one I was looking forward to for a while as I had loved repeatedly watching all of the other movies. However, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was by far my favorite of the whole series. The movie starts out with a heart-wrenching scene from Coriolanus Snow’s past, demonstrating how the unfortunate circumstances of rebellions resulted in the creation of the infamous Hunger Games. His life fast-fowards as the audience witnesses Snow as a young adult preparing for the reaping.

This prequel follows President Snow as a teenager. At the time of the book, the 10th annual Hunger Games is still not widely accepted. The Gamemakers struggle to keep interest in the Hunger Games. To gain a fresh perspective, capital students become mentors in the games. Coriolanus Snow’s tribute, Lucy Gray Baird, an underdog from District 12. The story follows these two protagonists, as their relationship develops, and Lucy Gray tries to stay alive in the games. This book is incredibly well written. It is a great continuation of the series The Hunger Games.

As the second book of the widely famous trilogy, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire has
got to be one of the best books I have ever read. Katniss Everdeen, now 17 years old, finds
herself relieved after surviving and winning the 74th Hunger Games, a competition where 24
kids, one boy and one girl from each of the 12 districts, fight to the death on national television.

I recently reread The Hunger Games after seeing the new trailer for Songbirds and Snakes which comes out in November. I totally forgot how much I loved this book, its characters, plot, setting, everything is written beautifully. Suzanne Collins did a wonderful job creating this series and I believe it’s a must read for everyone.

Suzanne Collins provides the third and final installment of the dystopian series, The Hunger Games, in Mockingjay. Katniss Everdeen has survived both the 24th and 25th Hunger Games, but she has also established herself as an enemy to the State, against the Capitol and tyrannical President Snow. Her wins have inspired rebellions across Panem Districts as she has become the symbol of freedom against the oppressive government.

Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. In this novel, Katniss Everdeen continues in her battle for survival in the post-apocalyptic world and tyrannical rule of Panem’s Capitol. Katniss and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark have just won the 74th Hunger Games, defiantly and in their own way, angering the Capital and sparking acts of rebellion in several Districts.

The Hunger Games is a dystopian novel by Suzanne Collins that tells the story of Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in poverty-stricken District 12 of Panem. Set in what is assumed as futuristic North America, the ruling Capital chooses teen tributes, one girl and one boy, from each district each year to participate in the Hunger Games as punishment for their part in an uprising against the city decades before.
